And Andersson did not have a very good year. Neither did Necas, but that was likely due to lack of premium ice time.
Maybe their value is equal, but I doubt Carolina would be adding a strong future piece

I agree with this. Necas had a down year, but he had 9 points in 11 playoff games. IMO he's better than Rasmus and if we think we get him plus a top pick, people are way off here.
Rasmus is a good player, but he lost his PP spot. Without that he's a dman that isn't really a top shut down dman, great on the PK and good for 30-40 points. He barely gets 50 playing the top pp role, today's NHL has 20ish 50-point dmen per season. His career year is barely good for top 20 in a prime-time situation with all the prime minutes playing with 2 100-point guys. 1 had 115 points.
