He's doing something that none of the previous coaches have been able to produce; the team is playing good defence. That was the running joke on this forum for all these years that the Oilers defence was their Achilles heel. He has come in and flipped it, and it's now their strength.
Good defence where you have a team that can produce Power Plays, and make use of them rather than squandering their opportunities? That's how you win with this roster.
He's doing a good job. Wouldn't have thought that to be the case considering his CV.
