In grade 9 the entire school staged a walk out. We had a substitute teacher start the year and everyone who had him as a teacher seemed to love him. He was filling in for a new teacher who was still on mat leave for the first couple months. About a week before he was done some grade 9 students decided to have a walk out. Word spread fast and after the home room bell rang the entire school walked out and marched to the School Division office right next door. "Hell no, we won't go, we want Mr. Myndio!"
I feel sorry for the teacher who was set to return about a week after that. She had to have felt very unwanted. She didn't teach at the school before that. I think they promised us that her be the first sub called when needed and he'd be offered the first available position in future years. I don't know if he ever got a full time job there as I went onto High School the next year.
