If Tre went with vereran coaches instead of AHL guys or lifetime assistants trying to crack the league, who knows what they would've got out of that core. That definitely wasn't the time to develop a green coach.
Even a pretty mediocre vet coach in Hartley got a run out of them early on. He played games and was tough on particular players, but he got his teams to put out.
Then Brad had to go and try to be smart and make his mark.
Gulutzan, Peters, Ward were a waste of time. Sutter was inserted too late in the game but he demonstrated why they needed to spend to get a proven coach behind the bench when all the top young talents were there.
I hope that Conroy learned from Treliving's mistakes and doesn't try to cut corners or get too smart with positions like the HC when the next young core begins to gel here.
I hope they let players grow and don't cut ties prematurely unless things are truly at an impasse. i.e. What became of the Bennett return? Not good.
