Hanifin just returned a (likely late'ish) future 1st, 3rd, and a depth defenceman. Is Andersson better? I actually don't think so - but I do think those two years at $4.55M have decent value.

I'm not saying that you have to throw it in, but if 7 is on the table for Rasmus and the deal needs to include 28...you do it. The odds of getting someone good at 28 vs the 2 2nds we have are almost equal. Odds at 7 getting an impact player in this draft is way higher.
The only plus in the Hanifin deal is the pick is not protected and we could get lucky that an older Vegas team is on the decline. Otherwise, a late 1st in 26 is nowhere near valuable as 7th pick in this draft.
