I don't know. Unless the player has serious top pairing potential, and I mean a legit do it all, top pairing defender, it's hard to advocate for a team like Calgary going after a D with the 9th OA pick. There's a number of guys that might fit that billing, but there's also a few that are serious red flags for me.
If it comes down taking one of the boom/bust D or going for Catton/Helenius/Tij I know where I would be going. If Buium or Dickenson are available at 9 as well it is going to be a real tough pick IMO.
