Florida has absolutely dominated this entire series. They should be celebrating a sweep right now instead of being 2-2. Completely the opposite.

But they didn't outplay their opponents last year...Bob had goalied both Toronto and Carolina. Goaltending 100% is what got the Panthers past both the Leafs and Hurricanes last year...but suddenly this year it's an issue if a goalie decides a series.
The stats show that Florida was more fortunate vs Carolina and Toronto last year than New York has been this year.
2023 Round 2 vs Toronto:
47.1% xGF - 15.8 xGF, 17.8 xGA - 14 GF, 10 GA - 154 Shots For, 174 Shots Against (-20) - 7.8 Goals Saved Above Expected
2023 Round 3 vs Carolina:
42.1% xGF - 13.7 xGF, 18.9 xGA - 10 GF, 6 GA - 127 shots for, 174 shots against (-47) - 12.9 Goals Saved Above Expected
And then New York's stats in this series:
44.4% xGF - 10.3 xGF, 12.95 xGA, - 9 GF, 11 GA, - 100 Shots For, 132 Shots Against (-32) - 1.9 Goals Saved Above Average
Bobrovsky goalied both the Leafs and Hurricanes last year a lot more than Shesterkin has goalied the Panthers this year. The goals saved above average isn't even close.
It's funny seeing the Florida fans on the opposite side of the argument this year after arguing all last season that the Panthers were doing something super special that overcame the large possession and shot discrepancies last year.
But this year it's just New York getting lucky and being carried by Shesterkin.
