The Oilers strategy in this series seems to be to come out gangbusters to try an win it in the 1st period and hope the other team breaks. It could be that their big guns are getting warn down. The thing is, Dallas seems like a very confident and patient team that doesn't break easily, plus their depth allows them to play a better full 60-minute game. Weathering an early storm doesn't seem to be an issue for them so far.

I think it's the worn-down issue. The Oilers have looked tired every year they get eliminated in the playoffs. It's the 3rd round, they rely on few players to play and now are playing a very deep Dallas team that has high end players. Guys like Jamie Benn who has 12 points plays like 14 mins a night. If Hintz was healthy game 1, this series would be 3 to 0.
Oilers supporters keep talking about the depth. If you look, Oilers depth scoring is similar to Dallas, I see what they are thinking. Problem is small smaple size and competition. Oilers supporters fail to acknowledge that Dallas played Vegas and Colorado. Elite teams and won. Edmonton pouned LA and barely beat a struggling and injured Canucks team. Now they are playing a deep stacked team. They are lucky they have a chance but IMO Dallas should win this series as I just don't think Mcdavid and Leon have much left in the tank.
When looking at the depth, Pavelski has produced nothing all playoffs. Would be nice to see him have a game tonight
