That's why the modern usage of the term AI is dumb. Because it isn't really an AI. So now we use the term AGI, for artificial general intelligence to describe human like intelligence. We don't have that. We may or may not ever create that. It may happen next year. But since we have such trouble defining and even explaining consciousness, which is what AGI would require, that I think it is a long ways off.
There is a thought that emergent AGI, that is, you basically build the box and let it evolve and "emerge" and learn is one way of getting there, but no one knows how to even seed that, or what the box needs to be, or not be.
