I can't see Jeannot being a pure cap dump. I also can't see Calgary giving up anything more than a late-round pick for a guy like him right now. (Marek was just speculating that he might be a good fit in Calgary. He was just talking.)
Jeannot's two years out from a breakout rookie season, there was a bidding war that got Nashville a 1st rounder at last year's trade deadline even though he hadn't put up many points before the trade, and he only has one year left on a non-albatross contract. He's not a typical cap dump.
I'd wager that another team will probably value him more than the Flames to at least give up a mid-round pick.
