Wow, you have the Flames taking Yakumcuk over Lindstrom?

Watched Yakumchuk live a few times this year and was really impressed. I think he would be a great pick. BUT, I keep thinking about Steve Ellis’s comments on speaking with Jarome about Lindstrom (DF podcast around WJC) and how impressed Iggy was.

Tough call really and a can’t lose in my mind. Maybe Lindstrom’s back is too big a risk to overlook. Have to say I’ve been a bit surprised people here aren’t talking more about a local 6’3” RHS D with a meanstreak and very good offense. Kid has potential stud written all over him.

I also like taking a D this draft and prioritizing C next. Given it usually takes D longer to mature, you can sit on Yakumchuk for at least a year, likely two. Two years down the road you could be inserting a stud, or two, into the lineup.

Also, I have to wonder where Conroy himself leans on position given he spent his career as a C.
