Investigating Alberta ghost towns a couple years ago brought me to the story of Rowley and the Rowleywood sign on the outskirts of the town.

Bye Bye Blues, a movie set in Alberta during WWII and co-starring Michael Ontkean (of Slap Shot and Twin Peaks fame), was filmed in Rowley, Alberta. I visited the site in 2022 and it has been preserved as a movie set, with many of the buildings constructed during production still standing.

Here's a recent article from the St. Albert Gazette: https://www.stalbertgazette.com/loca...y-tree-4483698
