That's actually a fact. The land the Jewish side was given in the partition plan was almost entirely already owned by Jewish people, with the exception of the Negev dessert.
As Beniho pointed out, much of the rest of the land was actually state owned, formerly by the Ottomans and then controlled by the British under their mandate.

The blue is Jewish ownership. Only the dark green is Arab ownership, with the majority of the land being state owned. The light green and blue is state owned and occupied. The white is state owned and Mawat (aka "Dead land"), which was a term for land that could not be occupied, as it was sand, rocks, mountains, etc..:

I guess my interpretation, which relies on actual facts, is a "lie", but simplifying the situation to Jews taking land from Arabs is the "truth"......
