That's a framing many pro-palestine people use. They make Israel actions look like a form of "punishment". They say October 7th was a horrible event, but it is in the past, and Israel needs to let it go. This framing trick is achieved by leaving hostages out of picture, like they don't even exist. However, Gazan government still holds hostages, which is a war crime by the way. The last time they committed a horrible act wasn't in October, it is today. While you read this, hundreds of hostages are still in captivity. Let them go if you want Israel to let October 7th go.
