She's in Alberta because she is from here, has her family and friends here. She spent some time in the US working on advanced treatments and training and working at various highly respected cancer centers.

She is getting offers all the time to move to other provinces and the US, as are a lot of specialists in Canada. It's becoming more and more appealing.

Personally I think one of the reasons why the federal government has somewhat paused the capital gains inclusion rate to 2/3 and not included it in the actual budget, is because of concerns with medical professionals. There could be some internal polling indicating a shocking amount of Dr's may leave Canada or retire early if this get's implemented or if there are not additional carve outs. Health care is a serious concern for Canadians and it's getting worse while we are going into an election year soon.

As for the quip about my grammar, thanks for that. It used to be better but has fallen off in recent years. As for my "inside knowledge" of things, I enjoy watching and reading a lot about news. Debate, present and discuss topics on this board like everybody else.
