I would be fine with either team against the oilers. Dallas is great a playing a grinding game and has a better goaltender. They would make the oilers play a type of hockey they really struggle with.
Colorado would play more of a style that the oilers are used to but the Avs are better at it. Colorado can do everything the oilers do - only better. The advantage to having Colorado against the oilers is that it pretty much neutralizes the oiler advantage when the refs start calling a bunch of penalties. If the refs decide to call everything, the Avs can burn the oilers on the powerplay just like the oilers can burn the Avs. It’s what you see for the oilers in any series. For the most part (with a few exceptions), if the refs give out tons of penalties, that gives the oilers the better chance to win games even if the powerplays are even. I think Colorado can feast on the oilers with their powerplay as well.
Of course, my greatest hope is that the Canucks just end the Oilers season tomorrow night.
