You have to think about it though - if Toronto wants him, and Savard wants to go there, most good managers wouldn't stand in the way of someone making a move like that.
Usually in the NHL, teams let assistants leave without issue so long as it's some level of promotion for the individual (and it usually is).
Savard is an assistant here, Toronto may offer him 'associate' - and Conroy likely lets him leave without much protest.
