That's the side effect of losing in all but very few markets. The Flames are down at least 1k per game over pre-pandemic so clearly some people are not renewing for various reasons. As long as they can hover around the 17k mark during the lean years, the organization should be able to handle that. We have to remember that the Flames play in the most dated arena in the NHL and the performance on the ice is the only draw for anyone to step foot in the Dome as nobody is coming for the building experience or because it's the place to be. Providing the team drafts well and makes good decisions, there should be an uptick that corresponds to the opening of the new arena.
