EDIT: I buy prime (highest USDA rated) steaks from Oregon Costcos for ~$26/lb. Ribeyes/filets are similarly priced.

I can buy a 7-9oz strip loin for $20 or a solid 9-12oz ribeye for $30-35 that feeds my wife and I.
My wife went out for mothers day with her lady friends yesterday and paid $66.00 for a 10oz strip loin at a reputable restaurant in NW Calgary.
I just picked up a 4lb chuck roast for $38 and 2 strip loins for $41.70 hours ago. Making “poor man’s” burnt ends on my GMG and then steaks for tomorrow. The roast is enough for 4 adults and 2 kids to eat burnt ends off of and then I don’t have to drop $125-145 for a 13-15lb brisket.
