I agree with that, but for a guy who had to know that his job was on the line, and that losing potentially means material roster changes, you would have thought he would find a little fire.
That, and the "teams let the Leafs beat themselves" quote both seem to speak to a guy who was just out of answers with this group. He's likely tried everything, and nothing seems to get through. I don't know if they are cursed, lazy or just generally indifferent, but there is a serious culture problem in that organization. If it was me, I would have fired Shanny first, but I am also very happy for the Leafs to run it back and continue to choke it up with the regularity of the tides.
EDIT: Just watched his farewell video on Twitter, which someone more tech savvy than me will post here shortly, I am sure. My respect level went way up after watching that. He'll get another coaching gig for sure, and I would be happy for a guy like that to coach the Flames.
