Have you tried the hot water method? I removed a door dent with it once. It's still kinda there if you look for it, but not noticeable. I then just used toothpaste to polish the red paint off that had transferred, and it worked. But it will depend on the depth. Depending on the vehicle I'd probably get a paint pen for it, since you get the clear coat too.
