I feel like Square Enix's exclusive (timed?) stance with FF7 and FF16 definitely did some damage to the studio as a whole.

There's no reason why FF16 and FF7: Rebirth shouldn't be on Steam/PC at a minimum, and given that FF15 sold rather well for them it would make sense that all these major titles show up on Xbox/Playstation/PC at the same time.
