I'm still not convinced. I think he will be a very good player and maybe he does become a star but for me given he projects as a winger at the NHL level I am hoping he gets selected before we pick. There are many really good players in this draft and if Iginla goes before we pick I think it's better all around. It drops a higher ranked player at D or C down a spot, it takes the pressure off the player to try and live up to his dad's legacy, and it doesn't put Conroy in a position where if Iginla is still on the board but they like someone else better they don't feel like they have to draft Tij which I think they 100% would do. I really feel like the Flames need to come out of this draft with one of those D or C unless that winger is Demidov somehow.
