If I were to speculate on the future, these are the things that I think have happened, or are going to happen.
1) Most of the hostages have already been raped to death.
2) The goal of the war is to mirror the Armenian genocide, and push gaza into Syria, removing the problem in Israel permanently. Probably about 5% of the deaths of the Armenian genocide, but the result the same.
3) Anger for a few decades, and then NATO cozies up to Israel because of strategic importance.
4) Strong Israeli move to the right, led by religious fervor.
5) New Gaza butts heads with Syrian regime.
So, basically the same thing that played out in the region a century ago, only this time it's the Jewish state instead of the Islamic.
