It's a step in the right direction. A loose regulatory framework would be perfect... don't turn it into some kind of everyone gets a turn to win nonsense like NA sports but keep it remotely competitive as it's getting a bit out of hand with leaders of nations backed by massive oil funds coming in.

I think the main challenge is going to be whether or not the PFA takes it or files a legal challenge. You'd think they would want some kind of spending floor to accept a spending cap.

Super league is a pile of turds, there's no way the english clubs are going that way. When the lawmakers of your country and vast majority of the population don't want something to happen, they can prevent it, full stop. Doesn't matter if court interpretation of existing law initially permits it, they can change or amend the underlying law if they feel like it especially now that they are out of the EU. There is zero chance that actually flies in England beyond a year or two and anyone who dives into it before it gets shut down is going to find themselves in no mans land.

Feels like idiocy whoever is pushing that idea forward relentlessly in the face of almost universal condemnation outside of the Barca Real and Juve fanbases/
