I wonder if he wants to recoup some of the money as he as outperformed his current deal by a big margin. I think his ask would be 14 maybe higher. Matthews just got 13.5.

I wondered if this was an issue with Lindholm as well (far more than fantasies about how he was mad that guys like Huberdeau got more).
Of course, players don't equally go in and say "I underperformed, please pay me less". Though maybe management does.
