He could have taken 8 years and $10.5M to be the leader here.
The whole "he could have signed long term but Treliving didn't want to" thing is giving him a free pass. He could have demanded a trade even if he had a contract still that offseason.
He didn't want to be here, and he probably would have forced his way out one way or another.
