According to the same reports, both offers included Holtz, a guy the Devils have publicly trashed and seem eager to get rid of, who happens to play at the one position where the Flames don't need any help. Conroy already has middle-six wingers out the wazoo.
I'm not at all surprised that no deal was made, and I don't blame the Flames' side for it.
