Hate to say it again, I'd rather build around McDavid and Draisaitl than the players the Flames had - any day any time. Tanking and luck is not for the faint of heart if you want to rebuild. Retool is only when you've got a good core to build around and you're just plugging in a few pieces each year to contend. This team better figure out if they want to properly rebuild or just retool to try and get into the playoffs. Its ridiculous for fans to hope to see a good team on ice but yet this team is mostly in the middle of the pack and not good enough to get anywhere. We can always talk about winning the lottery or trading certain players for extraordinary fantasy reurns all day long. Reality is, the Flames aren't helping themselves if players are just padding themselves for personal achievements. Cripes, if the players want some moral victory, win the last game when the draft position is secured! The team is not just the team on the ice, it's the whole organization!

Especially when you have to lose just a few meaningless games at the end of a season when you were trying at the beginning. Then these people start celebrating a win as though it means anything. Canuckesque.
Tanking is trying to lose the whole year which we have never done.
