Once the sale is finalized, Meruelo will be adamant that he will proceed with the arena. The NHL facilitated a $1 billion dollar interest free loan to make it happen. And he no longer has to bleed money while they play in a college rink.
I have never believed a word out of that organization but Coyote fans were adamant that the June 27 auction was the pivotal event. I suspect that once they hear how he is still committed to Phoenix hockey and the terms of the sale are revealed, those fans will be back on that roller coaster.
