TV revenue is a drop in the bucket for the NHL. The Canadian owners themselves foolishly agreed to share Canadian network revenue with American owners, because they had dollar signs in their eyes and wanted a share of the imagined billions from U.S. TV rights.

This is the only major league with more than one team in Canada. If you want to fix the problem, maybe the easiest way is to fold all the Canadian teams.
