He's giving it a go and hasn't quit so there's something to say about that, but when you're at the point where even 65-70 points would be a huge win for a 10.5M player, it's pretty bad.
Ultimately, does this impact the Flames? Not right now. It may in 3 years when they are looking at pushing for playoff contention and need the cap space and also have to push him down the lineup to give better, younger players more opportunity. Luckily eating the hit isn't a huge issue now.

He's among the leading play drivers in the last bunch of games, and he's probably second to Kadri in points in 2024. Points in the last 3 games, and the last 5 of 6. Basically he had a Crap december or he'd be at your 70 points.
Either way, you don't seem to know what replacement level means. Which waiver wire or current free agent could do the same?
