I don't even know why people would argue this. There is literally zero benefit to playing Markstrom. Winning these games does nothing for his trade value, but losing them (these are "no pressure" games) would hurt is value. It also risks injury etc etc.
For what? So we can close out the year on a winning streak and convince everyone we don't need to rebuild and, in doing so, tank a really good opportunity to draft someone halfway decent?
This shouldn't even be a discussion. I can imagine why anybody connected to this team (directly or as a fan) would want Markstrom playing any of these remaining games.

He wants to play and he's your starting goalie and a very valuable asset with a full NMC.
You keep him happy.
