I lived there from 2011-2015. After moving away, Typhoon Soudelor hit, the most damaging typhoon in years.
Moved back in 2016, lived there until 2023. Moved to Chicago and now Taiwan gets the strongest earthquake in 25 years.
Fortunately everyone I know is safe and sound, and other than a few spots on the relatively sparsely-populated east coast, things are back to normal.
