You could take a Kotkaneiemi or a Hayton up front and wait forever for them to make an impact or you could take a Quinn Hughes or an Evan Bouchard and have them make an immediate impact. Quinn Hughes is the most impactful player taken in his draft year (Dahlin probably a close second).
You could take a Turcotte or a Dach up front and wait forever for them to make an impact or you could take a Seider or a Byram on the backend and have them immediately jump in and make an impact. Seider is the most impactful player taken in his draft outside of first overall.
It really depends on whether the Flames need a guy sooner (take the dmen then) or if they have the ability to wait (take the forward).
