I think it looks 80's, you think it looks 90's, some people think it looks too current (aka: soon to be dated) or too futuristic. That thing is timeless.
I'm not a big fan either, but it is growing on me, as much as an Olympic logo can grow on a guy. I don't really care, so it can't grow much.
The outrage over the cost is kind of funny though. The London Olympics are going to cost billions and this thing cost 400 grand. People will bitch endlessly about the logo now but when some stadium goes over budget by a couple hundred million pounds it won't make many waves.
