I've gone through bouts of depression over the years and one of the things that became very apparent is that small acts of kindness mean an immense amount. Not only to the person that received it but to yourself as well. It humbles you. I think, though he's been through a lot over the last two years, he's probably finding out that he's is a lot more mature, patient, and caring than he was before. If he signs with Calgary for a long term contract I can easily see him being a true leader on this Team because of his struggles.
Regardless of what becomes of him or where he signs, I will always be a fan of him.
