This is pretty juicy and seems all too simple that the interpreter has a little gambling problem. It's 4.5 million bucks. I don't care how rich you are that's a large dollar amount to lend to a friend to pay off a gambling debt. It's also a little weird that it was multiple transfers over time. Rather than a lump sum payment if that was the case.
If it did turn out to be Ohtani that would be earth shattering. Especially for a sport that had just recently suspended another one of its young superstars in Tatis.
It's going to be an interesting story to follow and I wouldn't be surprised if whispers now follow Ohtani's career much like MJ and his 2 year "retirement"...
