It's a non-debate because you aren't responding to the actual suggestion that was initially raised.
Initial point: "CRT is an issue and fighting is linked to it therefore we should ban fighting or short of that discourage it more strongly"
You: "Fighting is allowed with just a 5 minute penalty so let them go"
Them: "But we are suggesting it be changed"
You: "It's allowed, plus, there are cars".
