I think Wolf will develop into a solid starter for the Flames eventually...as others have said, goalies need ample time to adjust to the NHL game and Wolf is still very young. His resume is stellar and he seems to enjoy proving critics wrong.
Speaking of smaller goalies playing well:
Russian goaltender Artemi Pleshkov (5'10" 161 lbs) set the world record for saves in a pro hockey game last weekend. He stopped 124 shots before surrendering the lone goal in a quintuple overtime 1-0 defeat in the VHL (no. 2 league in Russia). How much would that suck to make all those saves and still lose?
The NHL record is Joonas Korpisalo (6'3") with 85 saves in an overtime game during the 2020 bubble playoffs. Regular season is Ron Tugnutt (5'11") with 70.
