At this point I think you give him as many games as possible. There’s going to be some bad games but it’s all part of his progression. What he needs most is a chance to play and to build confidence. His sample size in the NHL is small and he needs time to adjust to the speed and shot strength of NHL players. Good news is that a rebuild/retool should give him plenty of opportunities. As good as Markstrom has been this season, he shouldn’t play much down the stretch. It’s time to usher in the new guard at that position.
