A family member often suggests that Theo's #14 should be retired based on his on-ice accomplishments alone. I disagree, and think that the Flames are wisely keeping their distance from him, and I hope that they never platform him by retiring his jersey (or formally honouring him in any capacity).
His brand is toxic, and the off-ice stuff matters. There is no benefit to the Flames brand that can come from Theo at this point.

I don't disagree. He has become a toxic and polarizing figure now. But that doesn't mean that his history and time with the Flames should be considered shameful as suggested by Ferarri. During his time with the Flames he was a pretty typical NHL'er and not someone that was troublesome. Sure he had some off ice indulgences that were not ideal by today's standard but at the time it was pretty common to have a party filled lifestyle.
