There is definitely a line between on-ice Theo and... what we have now. He is still an important part of the club's history, though the Theo highlights aren't quite as enjoyable to me now that I have seen what he has become.
A family member often suggests that Theo's #14 should be retired based on his on-ice accomplishments alone. I disagree, and think that the Flames are wisely keeping their distance from him, and I hope that they never platform him by retiring his jersey (or formally honouring him in any capacity).
His brand is toxic, and the off-ice stuff matters. There is no benefit to the Flames brand that can come from Theo at this point.
