Mangiapane, Kuzmenko, and Sharangovich are all UFA next year. It wouldn’t surprise me if none of them are back in 25/26.

Our top 9 is already pretty “full” looking ahead:

Vets
Huberdeau
Kadri
Backlund
Coleman

Young Players
Pelletier
Zary
Coronato
Pospisil

So, there’s basically one spot up for grabs in 2025/26. We’ll have Honzek and potentially the 1st rounder in 2024 knocking.

Maybe guys like Pelletier and Coronato never take the next step. Maybe Pospisil regresses and finds himself anchoring the 4th line (not a terrible outcome). And of course a year later and guys like Backlund and Coleman become question marks.

But it’s going to be difficult to justify keeping even 2/3 of those guys past 24/25. I think maybe you move Mangiapane in the offseason and see where everything is at by the TDL before you make a decision on Sharangovich/Kuzmenko.
