Point had 40 points and 18 goals in his D+3.
Mercer had 57 points and 27 goals in his D+3.
I am not saying Dawson mercer will be Brayden Point. I am saying you don't throw away young productive roster players with cost control. Just like Calgary shouldn't trade Zary. And florida shouldn't trade Lundell.
I can't imagine what the valuations on here would have been on a 3rd round pick who had a good rookie year in his D+3.
NJD moved Toffoli as their Tyler Johnson if you're hunting for an example
