Tried 8th and it seemed a bit better. But the guy in front of me didn't make. Stopped halfway through. As the water surrounded my car I made went around him and got through.
Good thing my Saturn sits a little higher than most sedans. I think that was the difference between getting through and not getting through.

Pretty much the exact same story as me, except I tried to cross from 6th ave to 14th st. south bound and the freakin civic in front of me swamped just as I start to go through, so I'm freakin stuck halfway! I had to get out with my buddy, walk through the almost-to-the-knee deep river, and push this guy's civic like half a block out of the lake that had formed. Luckily my Jetta seemed fine... his civic must have been really low to the ground.
Really scary ride all the way home though, lots of roads that were basically unusable downtown under 9th ave., pretty much any low-lying area.
