I don't see a 1st rounder being on the table for a 35 year old Markstrom with 2 seasons left. The best chance to get that was at the deadline if a contending team saw him as the missing piece, but that opportunity didn't arise. New Jersey was so close, but just far enough out that I don't think they figured that they were just a Markstrom away from contending.
At this point, I'd take Holtz and a 2nd.
