This rebuild is due to poor management plain and simple. Huberdeau spent most of last season with players who can't score. It's ridiculous to assume a playmaker is going to succeed without linemates. The first half of this year was exactly the same. If Huberdeau gets 100 pts last year we are still in the exact same position.
This rebuild is due to poor asset management, and expecting results from random pieces with no plan on how to construct a team.
Huberdeau put up 40 assists spending a large chunk of the season with Lucic. Kadri was by far worse than Huberdeau last year..Weegar was awful the first half of last year too. There's lots of blame to go around for players. Markstrom was probably the biggest issue last year.
