It isn't good enough to be paid like the average of the top 5 players? We're not talking that he is going to get the minimum. He is going to get almost 8 million dollars. The average of the top 5, so he is going to be paid at least like the 3rd best player at his position. Better than 60+ other starters at his position.

I have trouble understanding why these guys feel that they are entitled to be paid better than every other player at their position. Put the ego down and back away slowly. If the average person at the stadium was to earn $50K per year (which I doubt) then the average fan would need to work 156 years to earn what Samuel would play for, yet he is "being treated wrong"? What sort of logic is that?

Am I the only one who thinks that it is players like this that put professional athletes in a bad light? Players that cry that they are only getting $X million dollars, players that sign a contract then have one good season and decide they want more so refuse to honour the rest of that contract?
