The way things are going there is a very realistic possibility that Tij will be the BPA around the time the Flames pick. The stars could be aligning that way, and I really hope they do.
BPA is a bit of a fluid concept anyway though. I am sure a lot of the time, and of course, depending on the draft, by the time you get to that 8-12 spot on the list, there is a bit of witch craft and hair splitting. They might have a list of 5 players that are available to take in that block who have similar projections. I would imagine they start to look at things like how well the kid interviewed, the likelihood the kid wants to play in Calgary, work habits, coachability, even character references.
I would bet that Tij ticks a lot of the hair splitting boxes because we know what kind of person Jarome is, and Conroy likely knows Tij as a person and player.
And I would be lying if I didn't admit that it's just a great storyline. There would be instant love for this player and his name will be good for business.
